Servicing Nassau County, Long Island, NY Backflow Preventer Testing and Water Safety
Protecting the public water system is an essential part of my mission to protect public health. By utilizing the most up-to-date techniques and equipment to perform backflow prevention tests.
Please keep in mind that New York State Sanitary Code Part 5, Section1.31 (a) (3) and the Nassau County Public Health Ordinance requires that every backflow device be tested by a certified backflow tester once a year.
Residential Backflow Testing
Residential customers are required to have a backflow preventer if you have:
- Inground sprinkler system
- Swimming pool
- private well on property
- Wells that are interconnected with public water supply
Once, the test has been completed, a copy of the test form will be given to the property owner. Copies must be submitted to Nassau County Health Department and your water district. Please refer to the letter you received in the mail to properly submit your test result. If you require assitance, I will be more than happy to help.
Commercial Backflow Testing
Types of businesses that are required to install and perform yearly backflow tests include:
- Restaurants
- Dry cleaners
- Medical offices
- Funeral homes
- Beauty and nail salons
- Car washes
- Multi-tenant retail space
- Any commercial building three stories or taller
- Any commercial space with a dedicated fire service line / sprinkler system
- Churches with baptismal pools
